Tierney Linville, LPC
Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counseling | EMDR, CBT & DBT Therapy
Tierney earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas, and has worked in a variety of clinical settings including private practice, inpatient treatment, PHP/IOP programs, university counseling centers, and short-term virtual mental health services. This diverse experience allows me to support adolescents, college students, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
As a licensed mental health therapist, Tierney believes the foundation of effective counseling is the therapeutic alliance. She sees therapy as a collaborative partnership — “we are co-pilots on this journey. I am not working for you; I am working with you”. Research consistently shows that a strong therapist-client relationship is one of the most important factors in healing and long-term progress. She sees her role is to create a safe, honest, and supportive space where you feel empowered to grow.
She specializes in individualized treatment planning because she does not believe in cookie-cutter therapy. Every client’s story, nervous system, and lived experience are different. “When we tailor therapy to your specific needs, goals, and strengths, that is when meaningful change happens”.
She uses evidence-based approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma and PTSD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotional regulation and relationship skills. She integrates these modalities to help you shift unhelpful thoughts, behaviors, and patterns while building resilience and confidence. At the same time, she is not rigidly attached to any single technique — if something is not working, we adjust. Therapy should be responsive and dynamic, just like you are.
Her ideal client is someone who is ready to engage in the work — someone willing to show up honestly, create space to “hear the hard stuff,” and commit to meaningful change. Growth can be uncomfortable, but it is also deeply empowering. If you are ready to invest in your mental health, process trauma, reduce anxiety, strengthen coping skills, or improve your relationships, she would be honored to walk alongside you.
Healing is not about perfection — it is about progress, courage, and partnership.
