Rechele Mays, LCSW

Have you ever felt like the world wasn’t built for the way your mind works? Maybe you’re neurodivergent, queer, trans, or just someone who has spent a lot of your life adapting and carrying more than feels fair. Maybe you notice old patterns showing up in your relationships, or you find yourself anxious, dissociated, overwhelmed, or angry in ways that make sense given everything you’ve been through.

Underneath it all, you may be asking deeper questions: Who am I really? Why do these patterns keep happening? What kind of life do I actually want? Many of the people I work with are looking for clarity in the middle of chaos, authentic relationships, and a space where they can show up fully as themselves without judgment or apology.

You already know yourself better than anyone else. My role as a therapist is to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change that aligns with your values and goals. I work with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, identity exploration, attachment, and even negative behavioral patterns. I often incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, communication, and healthier coping strategies in my therapeutic approach along with Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-focused therapy. I focus on translating these approaches into clear, practical tools you can use in everyday life—not just concepts that stay in the therapy room.

Therapy can feel awkward or intimidating to even think about starting. You don’t need the perfect words or a neatly organized story. If you’re tired of looking “fine” on the outside while feeling exhausted or overwhelmed on the inside, therapy can be a place to slow down, sort things out, and begin building a life that feels more aligned and authentic. If you’re wondering whether therapy might help, feel free to reach out. We can start with a conversation and see if working together feels like the right fit.
